Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin
This project involved the design and construction of a 4,800sq.m single and double storey 90-bed care unit consisting of an MRI building, Haematology Building and ACU building.
T.J. O’Connor & Associates developed conventional structural frames and solutions for each building. As a cost and programme saving measure modular buildings were developed and chosen by the client. T.J. O’Connor produced detailed specifications for the provision of modular buildings for each of the specific specialised buildings. T.J. O’Connor & Associates were responsible for assessing and commenting on the design of each modular building to ensure the design satisfied the specification and ultimately the requirement of the client.
T.J. O’Connor & Associates designed the foundations for each building and the connection of each modular building into the existing hospital structure.
T.J. O’Connor & Associates investigated the existing foul and surface water sewer network around the hospital and produced diversion drawings to allow the installation of the modular building. T.J. O’Connor & Associates designed & detailed all new main sewer lines and ground works for new buildings.
