Experience:
Siobhán is the company BIM Director, a BRE ISO 19650 & BIM Level 2 Certified Practitioner and is responsible for the design and integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM) Information Management processes within the firm and on associated projects.
She was responsible for overseeing the company’s participation in the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) BIM pilot project and subsequent achievement of NSAI certification to the International BIM Standard I.S. EN ISO 19650-2.
Her responsibilities include implementing, managing and promoting the use of BIM software on projects, e.g., Revit, Tekla Structures, Navisworks, Windes MicroDrainage and AutoCAD Civil 3D, procuring Point Cloud Surveys and subsequent BIM Modelling Works and developing and implementing BIM Processes and documentation in accordance with ISO 19650 within the firm, including drafting and reviewing Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR), BIM Execution Plans and BIM Protocols and developing and managing project Common Data Environments (CDE).
Siobhán is experienced in assisting Clients in the development of their Exchange Information Requirements and definition of associated Asset Information Model requirements.
Representing the ACEI, Siobhán provides expertise and advice to the Build Digital Project Team, working under the Construction Sector Innovation and Digital Adoption Sub-Group. She is also a Steering Committee member for Construction Cluster Ireland (CCI) group. Both groups work in conjunction with Government to promote and drive Innovation and Digital Adoption within the Irish construction sector.
Siobhán has also Guest Lectured on the topic of ISO 19650 implementation for MSc in Applied Building Information Modelling and Management course at TU Dublin.
Projects where Siobhán has implemented and managed BIM include Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade Project, Beaumont Radiation Oncology Centre, Cork and Galway University Hospital Radiation Oncology Centres and Office Block developments at Nos. 3009 & 3011 Lakedrive, Citywest.
Since joining T. J. O’Connor & Associates in 2000, Siobhan has also gained extensive experience in all aspects of the preparation for and execution of civil and structural engineering projects, including preliminary and detailed structural design, preparation of tender and construction packages, tender assessments, management, and delivery of surveys and studies, attending project team and site meetings and the day-to-day management and site monitoring of projects.
Some of the major projects she has been involved in include Dundrum Town Centre Development, Phases 1 and 2, Carrickmacross Sewerage Scheme, Mallow/Ballyviniter Water Supply Scheme and Castleknock Hotel and Country Club.
She has also been responsible for compiling design, tender and contract documentation and drawings for a variety of local authority projects and has experience in completing local authority and government department applications including Foreshore Licence, Part VII planning and Discharge Licence Applications.
She has gained experience in Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) and has been responsible for compiling Sustainable Urban Drainage Strategy Reports for a number of projects.
